Supporting Entrepreneurship as a Mechanism for Social Inclusion

The ‘TASE’ transnational partnership - (Transnational Approaches to Sustaining Entrepreneurship) - was formed in 2005 to maximise the learning from three EQUAL Entrepreneurship projects n three different EU countries, Ireland, Spain and the Czech Republic.

Emerging lessons from this transnational partnership support the necessity for an integrated entrepreneurship - support strategy. A coherent strategy would make better use of the potential for entrepreneurship that millions of so called disadvantaged groups have – whether they be unemployed, inactive or working in the submerged economy - for both benefi ting from and contributing to growth and employment throughout the European Union.

Without the development and implementation of an integrated strategy, there is indeed a very real risk that much of the good practice and innovations developed out of project work such as that described within these pages, will simply be dissipated.

This document provides a summary of the rationale and evidence-base for such a policy framework, produced out of the experience of this transnational Partnership - based project.
